Business Office
The Business Office functions as the foundation of the financial framework for the Shenandoah Community School District’s Education System. It has primary responsibility for managing the budget, allocating resources, overseeing the procurement process, making timely payrolls, and ensuring the overall financial stability of the school district. This responsibility includes using uniform administrative procedures to operate in an efficient, cohesive, and transparent manner, with the end goal of providing the resources necessary to create an effective learning environment.
Efforts are made to maximize the use of integrated technology as it increases efficiency and the accuracy of the budgeting, the payroll process, and record keeping.
The staff participates in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on what is considered best practice, Iowa Code, and regulatory requirements.
The Business Office is committed to meeting ethical standards and demonstrating integrity. Operating in a transparent manner is a core value, with detailed financial reports and regular updates provided to the Board and public, published on the district’s website. External audits are completed and published annually.
Committed to excellence, the Business Office is focused on continuous improvement and innovative practices.
